Men's Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision to BC

PROVIDENCE, RI - Amidst cold and drizzly conditions on Wednesday evening at Stevenson Field, the Brown men's soccer team was defeated by Boston College 2-1.
The Eagles jumped on the board first at 16:57 of the first half when sophomore Neil Krause (Holliston ,MA) beat the Brown defense and slipped a shot into the right side of the net to give BC a 1-0 lead. Assisting on the goal were senior Chris Cleary (Milton, MA) and junior Danny Caruso (Northbrook, IL). Boston College (10-5-0, 6-3-0 Big East) took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Bears responded in the second half when senior Adrian Rapp (Sausalito, CA) netted the equalizer at 57:54 to tie the score 1-1. Sophomores Julian Jordan (Fort Wayne, IN) and Adom Crew picked up assists on the goal. Rapp, who has scored in the last two matches for the Bears, picked up his sixth goal of the year to bring his season point total to 13.
Boston College went back on top just six minutes later when junior Bobby Thompson (Framingham, MA) scored on a penalty shot to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
Splitting time in net for the Bears were freshmen Chris Gomez (Bellflower, CA) and David Mahoney (Wellesley, MA). Gomez picked up two saves on the evening.
The Bears (4-7-2, 2-1-1 Ivy) return to Ivy League play on Saturday, November 3 when they will travel to Yale for a 7:00 p.m. game.
