Boston, MA - Boston University scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 shutout over the Brown men's soccer team on Tuesday night in Boston. The Bears, who were coming off a 2-0 shuout of their own, fall to 6-5-2 overall on the year.
Despite matching the Terriers in virtual every statistical catagory, including shots on goal, Brown failed to get one past BU's keeper, who stopped all five of the Bears shots.
BU scored the game-winning goal in the 24th minute on a rocket from 30 yards out that beat senior goalkeeper Chris Gomez. Brown went on the attack in the second frame but the Terrier's defense held strong.
The 8-6-1 Terriers tacked on another goal with just 3:08 left on the clock to hold the Bears off. BU has now won four straight games while Brown has gone 2-2 over its last four.
Head Coach Mike Noonan's team will continue its road swing on Saturday against 14th ranked Penn.
