Providence, RI - The Brown men's soccer game lost a 2-1 decision at home against Harvard on Saturday evening. Brown falls to 2-2-1 on the season while Harvard improves to 5-1-0. The game was both teams' first Ivy League action of the season.
Harvard got on the board first after 36 minutes of physical play, where five cautions were given out. Junior Kevin Ara scored the goal for the Crimson on a penalty kick to give them a 1-0 at the half.
The Bears tied the game in the 64th minute when junior Adom Crew scored on a head shot off a corner kick from freshman Bobby Dobbie. With 18 minutes left in the game, Ara scored the game-winning goal on a wide-open rebound from senior Charles Morrow.
The Crimson out-shot Brown 20-16. Sophomore Jamie Roth had nine saves in goal for Harvard. Sophomore Christopher Gomez recorded eight saves in net for the Bears.
Brown continues action on Tuesday Oct. 1 at Rhode Island, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
