The men's soccer team fell 2-0 to the eighth ranked Blazers of Alabama-Birmingham on Friday night in the first game of the Yale/Fila Classic in New Haven, CT.
In the first half, the Bears were forced to play a man down when goalkeeper Peter Mahoney (Wellesley, MA) picked up a red card at 36:03.
UAB (4-0), who has yet to be scored upon this season, took a 1-0 lead at the 54:24 mark when Marin Pusek scored on a pass from Flavio Montiero.
With just over two minutes remaining in the game, the Blazers added another goal when Martin Rey scored to seal the victory.
The Bears (1-2) will be back in action at the Yale/Fila Classic on Sunday, September 23, when they will play Tulsa at 11:00 a.m. This game was originally scheduled for 12:00 p.m. but was moved up due to travel considerations.
