Men's Soccer Picks Up First Win of Season Against Alabama A&M, 3-1

New Haven, CT - The Brown men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Alabama A&M 3-1 at the Yale Classic Friday evening. Junior Adom Crew scored all three goals for Brown for the hat trick. Brown improves to 1-1-1 on the season.

Crew scored his first goal at 17:37 off a fed from junior Edward Thurston to put the Bears up 1-0. Brown held Alabama scoreless in the first half, allowing just three shots. Crew picked up his second goal of the night three minutes into the second half. Junior Matt Goldman recorded an assist on the goal.

To give the Bears a 3-0 lead, Crew blasted a shot over Bulldogs goalie Andrew Jjombwe head at 66:45. Junior Seth Quidachay-Swan picked up an assist on the goal. Alabama scored its lone goal at 75:10.

In his first action of the season, sophomore Christopher Gomez recorded five saves for the Bears, including a crucial save with nine minutes remaining in the first half. Jjombwe made three saves in the loss for Alabama

Brown will be back in action on Sunday Sept. 22 when it plays Vanderbilt at the Yale Classic starting at noon.
