Sept. 17, 2008

Boston, MA - Senior goalkeeper Jarrett Leech (Manakin-Sabot, VA) earned his third shutout of the 2008 season during Brown's 0-0 double overtime draw with Boston University on Wednesday night.

While the Terriers out shot the Bears on the first half, 4-2, Bruno bounced back in the second half and tallied seven shots to BU's five. In the 38th minute of play, TJ Thompson (Atkinson, NH) had a chance on goal, but the Terrier's goalkeeper, Hrafn Davidsson made collected on his first of three total saves for the night.

In the first 10 minutes of the second half, junior Nick Elenz-Martin (Encinitas, CA) and freshman Rob Medairos (Stafford, VA) both had shots on goal, but they were blocked by Boston defenders. Senior Rhett Bernstein (San Diego, CA) sent a shot wide in the 68th minute of play, and tried again in the 83rd minute but the ball was saved. With just under three minutes left in regulation, Bruno could have taken the lead after Thompson got his head on the ball, but it went just high of the crossbar.

BU tallied the only shot in the first overtime, and Elenz-Martin had Bruno's only shot in the second overtime, a header, as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Brown is back in action at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday against the University of Rhode Island
