Scott Cannon enters his second season with the Bears. Cannon brings a wealth of soccer experience as a collegiate and professional player, and as a coach at the collegiate, professional and youth levels to the Brown men's soccer program.

A 1991 graduate of the University of Evansville with a BS in Accounting, Cannon was a four-year starter for the Purple Aces, earning first team All-America honors as a senior. His 1990 team played in the NCAA Final Four and posted 20 shutouts. He was recently inducted into the Evansville Hall of Fame.

Cannon enjoyed a 10-year professional career playing for a variety of teams in the MLS, APSL, USISL, A-League, and NPSL. Cannon retired in the fall of 2001 after playing with the Tampa Bay Mutiny. He also played for the Colorado Rapids and the Columbus Crew.

Cannon also has international playing experience, training with the US National Team. He represented the United States as a member of the full National Team against the Bermuda U-23 national Team, and the US "B" Team in the Presidents Cup in South Korea and in the World University Games held in England.

Cannon has 15 years of camp experience and a variety of coaching experience. He is currently Director of Coaching for the Bruno United Futbol Club, after working in the same capacity with the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club. He was an assistant coach for the Richmond Kickers professional team in 2000-2001, and was a volunteer coach at the University of Evansville in 1992.

A resident of Providence, Rhode Island, Cannon and his wife, Erika, have two boys, Jordan and Braeden.
