PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Patrick Laughlin has announced that seniors James Myall (St. Charles, Illinois) and Louis Zingas (Warren, Mich.) will serve as team captains for the 2017 season.
"I am pleased to announce that James Myall and Louis Zingas have been selected as the captains for this year's team," said Laughlin. "James and Louis are key members of the team both on and off the field. They will do a great job as leaders of this group."
Myall will be a team co-captain for the second straight season. The senior has started 36 of 38 games played over the last three seasons, including 14 games last fall as a reliable defensive presence in the middle of the field. He was presented with the Cliff Stevenson Award as the team's most valuable player at the end of the season.
Zingas will serves as a team captain for the first time in his career. The senior defender led the team in minutes played last season and scored a pair of game-winning goals against Princeton and Yale, en route to Second Team All-Ivy honors.
Brown will kick off the 2017 seaon on Friday, Sept. 1 when they visit Bryant at 4 PM. The Bears will host Quinnipiac in the home opener on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 PM.
