PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Patrick Laughlin is proud to announce the addition of seven new student-athletes, set to join the Brown community in the fall of 2014. Brown's talented Class of 2018 is made up of players from six different states and includes players from the US Development Academy as well as US Youth Soccer clubs.

Joey Cipicciho
Hometown: Columbus, Ohio
High School: Worthington Kilbourne High School
Position: Goalkeeper
Club Team: USSDA Crew Soccer Academy 2013-2014, Classic Eagles Red 2011-2013

  • Team Captain, 1st Team OCC, 2nd Team All District 2012
  • Team Captain, 1st Team OCC, 1st Team All District, 2nd Team All State 2013
  • Selected as member of the "Super 12 Team" of Central OH Soccer
  • 3-Time Participant in US National Market Training Centers 

Coach Laughlin on Cipiccho – "Joey is a technically solid goalkeeper who has good hands. He was part of our Elite 125 camp last summer, and impressed us both on and off the field. He should come in and challenge our returning goalkeeper corp."

Quinn English
Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
High School: Marquette University High School
Position: Midfielder
Club Team: Bavarian Soccer Club

Coach Laughlin on English – "Quinn is a player who has the ability to cover multiple positions. I have seen him play and excel as both a forward and wide midfielder for his Milwaukee Bavarians club team. And in high school, he played in the back. Quinn possess outstanding speed, and will create match up problems for the opposition."

Nicolas Lozada-Smith
Hometown: Dallas, Texas

Position: Midfielder/Forward
Club Team: USSDA Solar Chelsea SC 2013-2014, USSDA Andromeda FC 2011-2013

Coach Laughlin on Lozada-Smith – "Nico impressed us while playing for Andromeda in the US Development Academy with his ability on the ball and his desire to have the ball. Watching him continue his development with a very strong Solar Chelsea team has confirmed our belief that he is a dangerous attacking player with more to come in his future." 

James Myall

Coach Laughlin on Myall – "James is a tough back for the Chicago Fire, and is a very competitive and smart soccer player. I have seen him play anywhere in the back four and center midfield for the Fire. He has started for three straight years in the US Soccer Development Academy, played in the USL Super 20 Finals, PDL, and MLS reserve games for the Fire. James' teams win, and he is a big reason they do."

Coach Laughlin on Thomas – "Trey first impressed us playing for the Region 1 Olympic Development Team. He kept improving at their interregional events, and on the Region 1 Team's trip to Argentina he performed at a very high level. Trey is an outstanding athlete who has just begun to reach his potential in soccer. I am looking forward to his continued development."

Coach Laughlin on Welp – "Gabe is a big, no-nonsense center back. He has been a leader for a dominant CUP team that has made it back to the 2014 USYS National Championships this summer after finishing runners up last year at the U17 age group. He has a great mentality and loves to compete."

Louis Zingas
Hometown: Warren, Michigan
High School: De La Salle Collegiate High School
Position: Defender
Club Team: Crew Soccer Academy Wolves U17/18

  • Competed in 70+ USSDA Games with CSA Wolves
  • USSDA National Finals 2012
  • All-State and All-Catholic 1st Team 2011
  • 4 Year Letter Winner and Team Captain for De La Salle CHS Track Team
  • Holds school records in the 400-meter dash and the 4x400 meter relay. 

Coach Laughlin on Zingas – "Louie is an excellent athlete with a great deal of pace. He plays for the Crew Soccer Academy Wolves and Brian Doyle in the US Soccer Development Academy. Louie can play anywhere in the back line, and we feel he is most suited to be an attacking right back in our system."
