PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After leading the Bears to a pair of wins, junior Daniel Taylor (Greenwich, Conn.) of the Brown men's soccer team was named the Ivy League Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Taylor scored in the 105th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the Bears a big win over Penn on Saturday evening. After tallying an assist earlier in the week in Brown's 2-1 win over Boston College, Taylor scored his third goal of the season in the second overtime to keep the Bears alive in the Ivy League title race and hand the Quakers their first league loss of the season. The win was Brown's third straight. Taylor leads the Bears with 11 points and five assists on the season.
