Laughlin Announces 2013 Men’s Soccer Schedule

PROVIDENCE, RI –
Head men's soccer coach Pat Laughlin has announced Brown's 2013 schedule. The 17-game schedule features four contests against teams that played in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, including 2012 National Champion Indiana.

Highlighting the home slate are games against local rivals Boston University and Boston College as well as three Ivy League contests, against Princeton, Penn and Dartmouth.

"I am pleased to announce our 2013 schedule," said Laughline. "We have put together a challenging non-conference schedule, which will prepare us for the rigors of the Ivy League."

Brown opens its 2013 campaign with a home contest against in-state rival Bryant as part of the annual Ocean State Classic on September 6th. The Bears will then face either Providence or Rhode Island in the next round of the Ocean State Classic, to be hosted by Providence on September 8th. Brown hosts Washington, which advanced to the Second Round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament, on September 13th, before beginning a stretch of three straight road contests.

The Bears play at Hofstra on September 15th, before traveling to Indiana to face the Hoosiers (Friday, September 20th) and Butler (Sunday, September 22nd). Brown closes out the month of September with a home contest against Marist on Friday, September 27th, while a mid-week game against Boston University on Tuesday, October 1st opens the month of October.

Brown will kick off its 2013 Ivy League campaign on the road at Columbia when the Bears face the Lions on Saturday, October 5th. A mid-week trip to New Hampshire on Tuesday, October 8th, will mark Brown's third game in eihgt days.

The Bears open the stretch run of their season at home against Princeton on Saturday, October 12th, as they will play games on six consecutive Saturdays with one Tuesday contest, a home game on October 29th against 2012 NCAA Tournament participant Boston College.

Following the game against the Tigers, Brown travels to Harvard (October 19th) and 2012 NCAA Tournament participant Cornell (October 26th). After the BC game, Brown will alternate home and away contests, beginning at home against Penn (November 2nd). The Bears play at Yale on November 9th and will close out the 2013 regular season at home against Dartmouth on November 16th.
