Men’s Soccer Participates in Kick Butts Day
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In an ongoing effort to give back to the community through several outreach initiatives, the Brown men’s soccer program recently participated in the annual Kick Butts Day, a nationally recognized day for youth to stand up, speak out, and seize control against big tobacco.

Men’s Soccer Announces Zisson Family Assistant Coaching Chair
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – More than 100 members of the Brown men’s soccer community convened at the Hope Club in early February to share in the program’s successes of the past year. During a special presentation led by Brown University Sports Foundation Executive Director Davies Bisset ’85, the Zisson Family Assistant Coaching Chair for Men's Soccer was conferred.

Men’s Soccer Announces Class of 2018
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Patrick Laughlin is proud to announce the addition of seven new student-athletes, set to join the Brown community in the fall of 2014. Brown’s talented Class of 2018 is made up of players from six different states and includes players from the US Development Academy as well as US Youth Soccer clubs.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Seniors Jose Salama (Madrid, Spain) and Josh Weiner (Armonk, N.Y.) of the Brown men’s soccer team have been named 2013 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) All-Stars and were invited to play in the All-Star game held at Harvard on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three different Bears scored in the first half and senior keeper Josh Weiner (Armonk, N.Y.) turned away a penalty kick in the second stanza as the Brown men’s soccer team downed Boston University, 3-1, Tuesday evening at Stevenson Field. Brown improved to 3-4-1 on the season while the Terriers dropped to 3-5-1 overall.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – David Goldsmith scored a pair of goals for Butler as the Brown men’s soccer team dropped a non-league road game to the Bulldogs, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Butler Bowl. Brown drops to 1-4-1 on the season with a loss while Butler improves to 5-1-1 overall.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 20th-ranked Brown University men's soccer team opens up the 2013 season with the fourth annual Ocean State Classic this weekend, hosting Bryant University on Friday before traveling to Providence College on Sunday. The Bears are set to host the Bulldogs in the season and home opener at 7 p.m. on Friday at Stevenson Field, and will then visit the Friars at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Glay Field.

Men’s Soccer Ranked 18th in NSCAA Preseason Poll
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown University men’s soccer team has been ranked 18th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) preseason poll. This marks the team’s third preseason ranking in as many years after the Bears were selected 11th in 2011 and 24th in 2012.

The Bears and Coach Laughlin will look to build upon their remarkable four-year run in which they have four consecutive NCAA appearances, including two trips to the Round of 16 in the past three years and an Ivy League Championship in 2011.
