In 2011: Saw action in 15 games for the
Bears this season … Combined for three points, scoring
his first collegiate goal in a 1-1 tie vs. Cornell on Oct. 22, and
dished out the game-winning assist in Brown’s second-round
NCAA Tournament game vs. St. John’s on Nov. 20.
Before Brown: Ben Maurey is an attacking player and joins the incoming class at Brown from Downingtown, Pennsylvania ... He attended Malvern Prep School where he has excelled academically and on the field of play ... In 2010 he was a member of the Penn Fusion team that competed in the USYSA National Championships in Kansas City, and also competed in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Nationals ... Following this success he became a member of the FC Delco Under-18 team in the US Soccer Development Academy ... At 6'5" tall, Maurey should have no trouble adapting to the physical demands of the collegiate game.
