Thomas McNamara & Sean Rosa Named to Ocean State Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team
Providence, RI- Senior forward Sean Rosa (Montreal, Quebec) and junior midfielder Thomas McNamara earned Ocean State Soccer Classic honors after solid performances against Providence College and Bryant this weekend.
Rosa started in both games this past weekend and played all 90 minutes against the PC Friars on Friday afternoon. Rosa took two shots on goal, but the Bears were unable to defeat PC losing 1-0. Rosa started against the Bulldogs on Monday evening and played 37 minutes. He took three shots, and scored the Bears' first goal of a 3-0 victory at the 12:34 mark.
McNamara started in both games for the Bears and tallied one shot during Brown's 1-0 loss to the Friars in his 73 minutes of play. McNamara recorded his first goal of the year, the third of the game at the 76:55 mark, to put the game out of the reach for Bryant. McNamara played all 90 minutes against Bryant and took three shots, two of which were on goal.
The Bears are now 1-1-0 on the year, as the squad prepares for the Dunkin Donuts Brown Soccer Classic presented by Academy Bus on Sept. 9 & 11. Brown will challenge George Mason at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, and then Temple on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2:30.
