Providence, Rhode Island - Brown (7-5, 1-3 Ivy) will honor its eight men's lacrosse seniors in ceremonies prior to Saturday's game against #1 ranked Cornell (11-0, 5-0 Ivy) at Stevenson Field. Seniors Michael Bernard, Alex Buckley, Chandler Clarke, Will Davis, Tyler Gaffney, David Madeira, Patrick Ryan and Bobby Shields will be wearing Brown's familiar home white jerseys for the last time in their four-year Brown careers. The pre-game festivities start at 12:45 p.m. with game time at 1:00 p.m.
Bears On The Air: Brown fans can listen to Saturday's game against Cornell on the internet by going to Brownbears.com. Mike Rubin will call the play and Mike Mancuso will provide the color commentary.
The Series Record: Brown and Cornell have met 45 times, dating back to 1964, with the Big Red holding a 30-15 series advantage over the Bears. Cornell has won the last four games between the two teams, including a 10-6 victory last year in Ithaca, NY.
Bears Topple Hartford: Senior Will Davis and freshman Thomas Muldoon each scored three goals in Brown's 14-8 win over Hartford. Sophomore goalie Todd Faiella was credited with the win in the Hartford game, making nine saves in 46:37 of play, allowing eight goals, after senior Chandler Clarke left the game due to injury.
Bear Facts: Freshman Thomas Muldoon leads the Bears in scoring with 30 points (21 goals, 9 assists)... Senior David Madeira's 22 goals lead the Bears and rank fourth in the Ivy League. His 81 career goals rank 13th best in Brown lacrosse history...Sophomore goalie Jordan Burke leads the Ivy League in save percentage (.630) and saves per game (13.0)...Sophomore Nic Bell captured 9 of 14 faceoffs against Hartford...Brown leads the Ivy League in man-up goals with 18 goals in 12 games...Senior Alex Buckley leads the Bears with 13 assists. Buckley, who has 45 career goals, has netted nine goals this season...Brown's 30.9 ground balls per game ranks second in the Ivy League.
Head Coach Lars Tiffany: Bears' first-year head coach Lars Tiffany is a 1990 Brown graduate and a two-year Brown lacrosse captain under then-Brown coach Dom Starsia. He played on two Brown teams that earned NCAA Tournament berths, and played in the North-South Senior All-Star Game. He comes to Brown after a two-year head coaching stint at Stony Brook.
