Despite three goals and two assists by senior All-American Jon Thompson (Freeport, ME), Brown dropped a 14-10 Ivy League decision to Dartmouth. The loss drops the Bears to 3-8 overall, 1-3 in Ivy play, while Dartmouth extended its record to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in Ivy action.
Brown fell behind by a 6-0 margin midway through the second quarter, but got goals from sophomore Chazz Woodson (St. George, VA) and Thompson to trail at the half, 6-2. Dartmouth came out in the third quarter and scored four of the next five goals to put the game away.
Woodson netted two goals and added an assist, and sophomore Britton Derkac (Virginia Beach, VA) also scored two goals for the Bears. Sophomore Chris Mucciolo (Manhasset, NY), junior Richard Whelan (Merion, PA) and sophomore James Hahn (Rumford, RI) scored one goal each. Junior Mike Levin (Pittsford, NY) made 14 saves in net for the Bears.
Brown will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22 for a home game against cross-town rival Providence College. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson Field.
