#14 Brown Earns 10-6 Non-League Win Over Providence

Providence, Rhode Island - Junior Thomas Muldoon exploded for four goals, while senior Brady Williams and sophomore Andrew Feinberg added three goals each to lead the 14th-ranked Brown men's lacrosse team to a 10-6 non-league win over Providence College. The win lifts Brown's record to 11-2 overall, reaching the 11-wins mark for the second time since 1994. Providence falls to 6-7 overall.

With the score tied 2-2 after one quarter, Brown broke the game open in the second quarter by out-scoring the Friars 5-0. Williams scored the go-ahead goal just 41 seconds into the second quarter. The scoring continued for the Bears with Muldoon netting two goals in the streak, Feinberg scoring one, and Williams his second of the game to open a 7-2 advantage at the half.

The Bears out-shot the Friars by a 14-3 margin in the second quarter alone to take control of the game.

Providence got back in the game by out-scoring Brown, 4-1, in the third quarter to get within two goals, 8-6. The Friars were aided by a 5-1 advantage in face-offs in the quarter.

Brown's defense stiffened in the fourth quarter and Williams and Feinberg scored early goals to lift the Bears to a 10-6 advantage.

The first quarter looked like a chess match with Muldoon and sophomore Feinberg scoring to give the Bears a 2-0 lead and providence answering with two unanswered goals to tie the game 2-2.

Senior All-American goalie and Tewaarton Award Finalist Jordan Burke registered nine saves in net for the Bears.

Williams added an assist to go with his three goals, while senior Reade Seligmann handed out three assists.

With two games remaining in the season, the Bears control their own destiny as they seek the Ivy League title and an NCAA Playoff berth. Brown will host #4 Cornell on Saturday, April 25, facing the Big Red in a Senior Day game at Stevenson Field, starting at 1:00 p.m. The Bears wrap-up their season on the road the following week, Saturday, May 2, traveling to Princeton, New Jersey to face the #1 ranked Tigers.
