Philadelphia, PA - The Brown men's lacrosse team dropped another close game, falling to the Penn Quakers, 11-9 at Franklin Field. The Bears, 4-6 overall, 2-1 in the Ivy League, have now lost five games by two goals or less.
Junior Michael Hughes gave Brown a 9-8 lead with 4:31 remaining in the game on a pass from freshman Chazz Woodson. The Quakers tied the game with 2:44 remaining and scored the game-winner with 1:17 left to play.
Sophomore Brian Miller led the Bears with three goals and one assist, while junior Chas Gessner added two goals. Senior Jimmy Mormile, Woodson, junior Jon Thompson and Hughes netted one goal each for the Bears.
Sophomore goalie Mike Levin had another strong game, making 16 saves.
The Bears return to action next Saturday afternoon at home against Dartmouth. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson Field.
