#9 Brown Laxers Rally For 13-9 Win Over Yale and Eighth Straight Victory

Providence, Rhode Island - Trailing 9-6 midway through the third quarter, the 9th ranked Brown men's lacrosse team scored seven unanswered goals to earn a 13-9 come-from-behind Ivy League victory over Yale at Stevenson Field, for its eighth straight victory. The win lifts the Bears to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League, while Yale falls to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in Ivy play.

Yale had taken a 9-6 lead on a goal by Michael Karwoski with 10:08 left in the third quarter. The Brown onslaught started when senior Brady Williams scored on a pass from freshman Rob Schlesinger with 5:55 left in the third quarter, to make it 9-7 after three quarters of play.

Bears' junior Collins Carey opened the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal at 10:28, followed by a goal by Andrew Feinberg to tie it, 9-9, with 9:20 left to play.

Senior captain Jack Walsh gave Brown the lead for good, 10-9, when he took a pretty feed from Williams, finding the back of the net with 7:42 left on the clock. Senior Reade Seligman scored an unassisted goal to give the Bears some breathing room, 11-9. Feinberg scored to make it 12-9, followed by Thomas Muldoon's fourth goal of the game to account for the final score.

Brown seemingly had control of the game, building a 5-3 lead with 7:47 left in the second quarter on a goal by senior captain Kyle Hollingsworth. Muldoon scored twice for the Bears, while Feinberg and Schlesinger also scored in the game's first 23 minutes.

The Elis scored five straight goals, four in the second quarter to grab a 7-5 halftime lead and one by Matt Fuchs early in the third quarter to grab n 8-5 advantage. Muldoon scored for the Bears to make it 8-6, but Karowski's goal at the 10:08 mark gave Yale a 9-6 advantage.

Muldoon scored four goals for the second straight game and furthered his consecutive game point streak to 29 games, sixth best in the nation. Feinberg, who had four goals against Bryant on Tuesday, added three goals for the Bears.

Senior All-American goalie Jordan Burke came up with 15 saves for the Bears, including eight in the second half.

Brown lost the battle of possession, with Yale face-off specialist Kevin Discepolo winning 18 of 24 face-offs, while also picking-up eight ground balls.

The Bears will return to Stevenson Field next Saturday, April 11, facing Ivy League rival Penn. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
