Loyola, Maryland - Despite two goals and three assists by senior All-American Jon Thompson, the Brown men's lacrosse team suffered a loss 16-8 to ninth-ranked Loyola.
Brown (2-2) held its only lead of the game when sophomore Chris Mucciolo scored 10 seconds into the game on an assist from Thompson. The Greyhounds (5-1) answered six seconds later to tie the score and took the lead for good, 2-1, on a goal by Nino Othman at the 6:16 mark of the first quarter.
Mucciolo netted two goals and handed out two assists for the day, while junior Rich Tuohey scored two goals and added an assist. Freshmen Will McGettigan and Kyle Wailes registered one goal each.
Junior All-American Mike Levin made 13 saves in goal for the Bears.
The Greyhounds were led by senior Chris Summers, who scored three goals and dished out four assists. Stephen Brundage, Gunnar Goettelman and Nino Othman scored three goals each for Loyola.
The Bears will be back in action on Wednesday at home against Fairfield. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson Field.
