Simply put, there is no one tougher in our program, a program filled with hardy, resilient men.  And the toughness is not just a physical one - he is emotionally and mentally hardy as well.  Despite popping his shoulder out in the Penn game, he played versus Harvard four days later.  He warranted playing time in all of 2009 despite the wealth of senior talent.  As a defensive midfielder, a position he had never played before, Rob served as an ignition switch for our transition offense.  With determination and endurance, he made coast-to-coast runs and scored momentum-changing goals in wins over UMass, Yale and Cornell.  He plays fearlessly, and thus he is the one who comes up with the ground ball and with the goal in crunch time. In 2010, more will be asked of Rob as he will compete as an "old school" two-way midfielder... 2009: Enjoyed a strong freshman year, scoring five goals and one assist...Netted two goals in the Bears' win over UMass...Picked-up 35 ground balls, fourth best on the Brown team...Won the Vincent Marinelli Award as Brown's Outstanding freshman player...Secondary School Background: A graduate of Noble and Greenough School where he lettered in lacrosse (4) and football (4)...US Lacrosse All-American...Lacrosse and football team captain...Three time All-ISL league selection...Second leading scorer in school history with 240 career points...Lead league in scoring as a senior with 88 points...MVP of New England East/West All Star Game...All-New England and All-league in football...Lead the team in tackles his senior year...Member of the New England Select Lacrosse League club team...Personal: The son of Robert and Gail Schlesinger...Has a sister, Jess...Enjoys fishing and golf...Economics and Modern American History concentrator.
