It is hard to find a better shooter on the run than Jason. The speed and accuracy of his shot makes a goalie's task of seeing and saving the ball very difficult. His razor sharp focus creates a highly motivated student and is also propelling him to do great things for others around the world: such as young people in Uganda. He spent the summer of 2009 with the Kampala Kids League, supported by a Royce Scholar Fellowship. This was accomplished after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with his father. There is playing time to be found at midfield this year, and Jason has the ability to grasp it if he maintains his confidence in the heat of the game...2009: Scored a goal against Vermont...Saw action in four games for the Bears...2008: Played in 10 games for the Bears, registering four shots...Picked-up a ground ball vs. Air Force...Secondary School Background: A graduate of the Landon School where he lettered in lacrosse (4), soccer (3), and wrestling (3)...Lacrosse team captain as a senior...Received the Jack Crawford Award as Landon's top midfielder...Fabulous 40 All-Star as a sophomore...Participated in the STX Blue-Chip Camp...Two-year Honor Roll student and Dean's List...Personal: The son of Chris and Diane Pohanka of Alexandria...Has a brother, Nick, and a sister, Blake...Enjoys lifting weights, reading and hanging out with friends...
