This man demonstrates maturity and a growing confidence in self both off and on the field.  We have enjoyed experiencing Matt become more expressive vocally and with the creative license of the video camera.  This emergence is seen with his play as well, as Matt is establishing himself as a threatening, tough defenseman with a takeaway mentality.  Playing in every game in 2009, Matt excelled at the long-stick midfield position, pressuring the opposition and faring well with getting the ground ball.  He found the balance between hard chopper, yet not sitting in the penalty box  (only 2 penalties on the year).  Matt will be utilized at close defense and as a long stick midfielder in 2010, and will be in the mix fighting for a starting spot...2009: Saw action in all 16 games for the Bears...His 21 ground balls were ninth on the Brown team...Picked-up four ground balls against both Denver and Princeton...2008: Enjoyed a solid freshman year, playing in 11 games for the Bears...Picked-up four ground balls...Secondary School Background:  A graduate of the Hotchkiss School, where he lettered in lacrosse (2), football (2) and wrestling (2)...Three-time New York City Empire selection, and team captain in 2006...All-New England selection at defense...2007 Founders League Champions...Earned the Hotchkiss School Stuart Award...Personal: The son of Jeffrey and Kimberly Greenberg of New York City...Has three sisters, Caroline, Lizzie, and Annabel...Enjoys skiing, surfing and fly-fishing...
