The emergence of Matt during the second half of the 2008 season
and this fall could not have come at a more critical time due to
the graduation of Brian Sharnick and Reed Deluca. Matt is
complementing an aggressive, hard-checking defensive style with an
improving stick and growing confidence in the schemes. In 2008,
Matt was a key member of the Man-Down unit. Much more will be asked
of Matt in 2009 as he continues to elevate his game. His growth and
development as a close defenseman will directly impact the team's
defensive and overall success...2008: Enjoyed a
solid freshman year, playing in 11 games for the Bears...Picked-up
four ground balls...Secondary School Background: A
graduate of the Hotchkiss School, where he lettered in lacrosse
(2), football (2) and wrestling (2)...Three-time New York City
Empire selection, and team captain in 2006...All-New England
selection at defense...2007 Founders League Champions...Earned the
Hotchkiss School Stuart Award...Personal: The son
of Jeffrey and Kimberly Greenberg of New York City...Has three
sisters, Caroline, Lizzie, and Annabel...Enjoys skiing, surfing and
fly-fishing... Undecided on his concentration.
