Mike Fraioli begins his fifth season as an assistant coach at Brown, coming to College Hill from Hartwick College where he was an assistant coach in 1999 and 2000.
Fraioli works with the Bears' midfielders and goalies, and will also concentrate on face-offs. He helped develop Bears' goalie Mike Levin into a USILA All-American and first team All-Ivy and All-New England selection, and has guided Bears' face-off man Kirk Teatom into one of the top face-off men in the Ivy League.
Fraioli is also involved in opponent scouting duties, and is Brown's video coordinator.
While at Hartwick, Fraioli served as the offensive and extra man unit coordinator, as well as coaching the goalies. Fraioli also worked as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College for the 1998 season.
A 1997 graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology/Anthropology, Fraioli was a two-year lacrosse captain on teams that posted a 35-18 record. A four-year letterwinner, he won the Maryland Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Award for outstanding academic achievement.
An active clinician throughout the country, Mike has recently spoken at the US Lacrosse National Convention (2004), the Eastern Massachusetts Coaches Association Clinic (2004), the Crimson Coaches Clinic sponsored by Harvard University Lacrosse (2004), the Anne Arundel County, MD Youth Lacrosse Coaches Association (2005), and the King Philip, MA Youth Coaches Association (2005).
A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Fraioli is assistant director of the Brown University Lacrosse Camp, and the Challenge Lacrosse Camp. He currently resides in Cranston, Rhode Island.
