There is an emerging senior defenseman in the program, a man who is a product of physical diligence and schematic development. Ryan's personal quest to improve his strength while maintaining his weight has been a successful quest. For two years now Ryan has made significant progress in the weight room while improving his running. With the loss of two key men at close defense in 2008, Ryan has made up his mind that he will be a starter in 2009.
