  • Brown Athletics Honors 2017 Award Winners at Ninth Annual Senior Celebration

    Brown University athletics held its Ninth Annual Senior Celebration and Awards Luncheon at the Providence Biltmore on Monday, May 22, 2017. Over 275 student-athletes, coaches, staff, and distinguished guests attended the event to celebrate another year of success in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. President Christina Paxson and Director of Athletics Jack Hayes each took the opportunity to address the room and acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of the Class of 2017.
  • Five Brown Lacrosse Student-Athletes Named NEILA Academic All-New England

    Seventy-five senior men’s lacrosse players have earned selection to the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England teams. Brown led all New England Division I institutions with five student-athletes selected, including midfielder Matt Graham (Amityville, NY), long stick middy Larken Kemp (Greenwich, CT), attackman Dylan Molloy (Setauket, NY), defenseman Alec Tulett (Toronto, Ontario) and midfielder Brewster Warble (Bronxville, NY).

    With the 2017 men’s lacrosse seasons nearing their championship weekends, the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) is honored to announce its 2017 All-New England Teams. Four Brown standouts earned First Team All-New England honors including attackman Dylan Molloy ’17 (Setauket, NY), LSM Larken Kemp ’17 (Greenwich, CT), defenseman Alec Tulett ’17 (Toronto, Canada) and midfielder Stephen Hudak ’18 (Rydal, PA).
  • 2018 Ivy League Men’s Lacrosse Tournament To Be Hosted By Columbia

    The Ivy League Athletic Directors announced that the 2018 Men’s Lacrosse Tournament will be located at a neutral site, Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium on the campus of Columbia University.
  • Four Brown Student-Athletes Named to Academic All District At-Large Team

    Brown seniors Larken Kemp (Men’s Lacrosse), Dylan Molloy (Men’s Lacrosse), Ruby Moore-Bloom (Women’s Crew) and Luke Weiser (Men’s Water Polo) were named to their respective 2016-17 Academic All-District At-Large Teams on Thursday as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

    Yale held Brown to just one second half goal and rallied from an 8-5 halftime deficit to earn a 10-9 win over the Bears in the Ivy League Tournament Championship game at Reese Field, gaining the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

    Today the NCAA recognized more than 1,200 Division I teams for outstanding academic achievements. Brown University tied with Dartmouth College for the highest number of Public Recognition Awards with 19 teams apiece.
  • Brown Student-Athletes Selected To All-Ivy Men’s Lacrosse Team

    Seven members of the Brown University men’s lacrosse team have been named All-Ivy for the 2017 season by a vote of the seven Ivy League lacrosse coaches. Senior attackman Dylan Molloy (Setauket, NY) was named a First Team All-Ivy selection for the third time in his storied career, and senior defenseman Alec Tulett (Toronto, Ontario) earned First Team All-Ivy honors for the second time. Senior middy Matt Graham (Amityville, NY), senior long stick middy Larken Kemp (Greenwich, CT) and junior face-off specialist Ted Ottens (Wilton, CT) were named to the All-Ivy Second Team, while junior middy Stephen Hudak (Rydal, PA) and junior defenseman JJ Ntshaykolo (San Francisco, CA) earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors.

    With an NCAA Tournament bid on the line, Brown rolls into the Ivy League Tournament riding a four game winning streak and seems to be peaking for a run at the championship. The third-seeded Bears finished second in the Ivy standings and will battle second seeded and nationally 19-ranked Princeton in the opening Ivy League semifinal on Friday, May 5, at 3:30 p.m., live on ESPNU from Yale’s Reese Stadium.

  • Hudak and Newsome Score Four Goals Each In Brown’s 20-5 Win Over Dartmouth

    Junior middy Stephen Hudak (Rydal, PA) and sophomore attackman Jackson Newsome (Arlington, VA) scored four goals each to lead the Brown men’s lacrosse team to a 20-5 Ivy league win over Dartmouth at Scully-Fahey Field. The Bears finish the regular season with a 9-5 overall mark, 4-2 in the Ivy League, while Dartmouth falls to 2-11 overall, 0-6 in Ivy play.

  • Kniffin Scores Four Goals As Brown Beats Bryant, 14-12, For Ocean State Cup

    Freshman attackman Jack Kniffin (Darien, CT) scored four goals, including two in an 8-1 run, to lift Brown to a 14-12 non-league win over Bryant to capture the Ocean State Cup at the Bulldogs’ Conaty Indoor Athletic Center.
  • Dylan Molloy Named Ivy Player of the Week; Phil Goss Earns Ivy Rookie of the Week Honors

    Following Brown wins over #20 Providence and Cornell, Bears’ senior All-American attackman Dylan Molloy (Setauket, NY), the fifth leading scorer in NCAA lacrosse history, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week, and freshman goalie Phil Goss (San Francisco, CA) was selected Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
  • Ocean State Cup On The Line As Brown Visits Bryant

    Brown will look to capture the Ocean State Cup when the Bears play their final non-league game of the season against Bryant on Tuesday, April 25, in Smithfield, R.I. The Bears have already beaten Providence in the Ocean State Cup Series and will face the Bulldogs at either the Turf and Track Complex or Conaty Indoor Athletic Center, starting at 7:00 pm. The game will be available for viewing on NEC Front Row.
  • Pairings, Game Times Set For Ivy League Men’s Lacrosse Tournament

    Freshman Jack Kniffin (Darien, CT) scored on a pass from senior All-American Dylan Molloy (Setauket, NY) with 3:16 left in the second overtime period to lead Brown to a 13-12 win over #20 Providence in an Ocean State Cup game at Chapey Field.
  • Brown Travels Across Town To Battle #20 Providence

    Brown and #20 Providence will meet on the lacrosse field for the 23rd time when the two cross-town rivals battle on Tuesday, April 18 on the PC campus at Chapey Field. The two teams will be competing for the Ocean State Cup and all the action starts at 7:00 pm.
  • Jackson Newsome Scores Four Goals For Brown, But #14 Yale Topples Bears, 18-12

    #14 Yale junior attackman Ben Reeves registered a career high 10 points on five goals and five assists to lift Yale to an 18-12 Ivy League win over Brown Saturday afternoon to clinch a share of the Ivy League title, as well as claiming the number one seed to host the Ivy League Tournament. Freshman attackman Jackson Newsome (Arlington, VA), making his second career start, paced the Bears with a career high four goals.
  • Dylan Molloy Named Finalist for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award

    Brown senior All-American Dylan Molloy (Setauket, NY) joins nine other NCAA® men’s lacrosse student-athletes, exceling both on and off the field, who were selected as finalists today for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award® for collegiate lacrosse. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be classified as NCAA Division I seniors and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.   • Brown and #14 Yale Meet In Ivy League Showdown On ESPNU

    First place in the Ivy League standings is on the line as Brown travels to New Haven, Conn., on Saturday, April 15 to battle #14 Yale in a game televised nationally on ESPNU. The Bears are one game behind the Bulldogs in the loss column and are fresh off an 11-8 win over Penn. All the action starts at 12:00 noon at Reese Stadium with Mike Corey and Paul Carcatera calling the play for ESPNU.
