The Peaceful Warrior is able to eliminate the radio noise, focus on the task at hand and then walk away with a clear mind and return to his normal state.  The transformation Will makes as he transitions from the real world to the other world, the competitive arenas of lacrosse training and games, is almost seamless and complete.  Where did the pleasant, humorous guy go and who is this defenseman who will crash his body into an attackman and crunch him to the turf?  Will has a remarkable talent for anticipating the opposition's passes, often jabbing his stick into passing lines and coming away with the ball directly or off of a loose ball.  An essential part of our Man Down unit, Will is relied upon to come off the bench and promptly make his reads and contribute.  In 2013, he will again be fighting for more playing time behind a senior-laden starting unit that includes two captains.  But Will has shown no sign of resigning himself to playing a limited role with our program.  His work ethic and attitude have been exemplary and he is preparing himself for the day his starting opportunity arrives…2012:  Saw action in 14 games…picked-up 10 ground balls…Picked-up a season high four ground balls vs. Princeton…Secondary School Background:  A graduate of Deerfield Academy, where he lettered in lacrosse (3), squash (3) and football (2)…2011- captained an undefeated lacrosse team and New England champion, two-year starter and co-New England Champion his sophomore year, Senior East-West New England All-Star game, Played in the Under Armour Underclassmen Game for New England… Squash: 3 year letter winner, Ranked 3rd in New England at his position as a sophomore. Captain of team as senior; Football: two- year starter…Personal:  The son of Robert and Elizabeth Swindell of Greenwich…Has a brother, Bo, and two sisters, Katie and Elizabeth…Enjoys swimming, listening to music and hanging out with friends…Undecided on his concentration.
