Without being detected, the stealth bomber flies in, finds its target and delivers the goods. After many games last year, his freshman season, our staff was consistently surprised as we reviewed the score sheet. "Nick had 3 goals? I remember one, but when did he score the others?" was not uncommonly heard or thought. How this happens is both a reflection of his crafty off-ball cutting and his low-key, silent demeanor that brings little attention to himself and deflects more of it to his teammates. The 23 goals Nick scored as a freshman were absolutely critical for our team's success. But his contributions to the team were not solely based on hitting the back of the net. Nick has a high level of game sense, fortified with years of playing not just lacrosse, but also competing as a quarterback and point guard in football and basketball, respectively. If a new offensive scheme or play is drawn up by a coach, he is the first to comprehend it and help others know where to go. Nick will be relying on more of his former quarterbacking skills in 2013, as he will be asked to take on a larger role with distributing the ball and being more of a playmaker (i.e. - not being as stealthy!)…2012: Earned the Vincent Marinelli Award as Brown’s outstanding freshman of the year…Scored 23 goals, second on the Brown team, while adding seven assists…His shooting percentage of .442 ranked 18th in the nation…Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week four times…Netted a season high four goals vs. Vermont…Scored three goals in his collegiate debut vs. Quinnipiac, and later against Harvard…Started 13 of 15 games for the Bears…Picked-up four ground balls…Secondary School Background: A graduate of Carthage High School, where he lettered in lacrosse (4), basketball (4) and football (2)… Lacrosse: Four- year starter, Team Captain (2011), USCLA Academic All-American (2011), Frontier League All-Star (2009, 2010 and 2011), First Team All-Northern NY (2009, 2010 and 2011), All-Northern NY MVP (2010), 2nd Team All Central NY (2010), Central Empire State Games team (2010), Upstate, NY Under Armour team (2010), Syracuse Adidas National Lacrosse Classic team (2010), Frontier League scoring leader (2010 and 2011), Set school single game assist record with 12 (2011), Finished career with 372 points (147g/225a), Frontier League Champions (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 with 48-0 league record), NY State Class B Runner-ups (2008)… Football: Team Captain (2010), League All-Star QB (2010), Central NY Chapter of National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete (2010)… Basketball: Team Captain (2009/10 and 2010/11), Frontier League All-Star (2009/10 and 2010/11), 2nd Team All Northern NY (2010/11), Set school record with 154 three point field goals (career), Frontier League Champions (2010/11).
