Becoming a big part of the game plan was supposed to take a year or two. Stephen was shifted from his high school position of midfield to defense, a move he prepared for prior to his arrival to Providence in the fall. The results are clearly evident: Stephen had adapted to the long stick skillfully and quickly and he is learning the positioning and techniques of defense. He is the strongest freshman in the program posting impressive numbers with the bench, squat and cleans. Stephen is on pace to earn a significant role for the team, most likely focusing as a long stick midfielder this spring…Secondary School Background: A graduate of Babylon High School where he lettered in lacrosse (4), football (3), track (3)…Lacrosse: 2010 - Started every game, All League Selection, 2011- Started every game, Team Captain.
