Parker Brown and Sam Hurster Earn Ivy League Weekly Lacrosse Honors
Providence, Rhode Island - Brown junior attackman Parker Brown (San Francisco, CA) and freshman attackman Sam Hurster (St. Louis, MO) have been named the Ivy League Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for their play in Brown's season ending 13-12 overtime victory over Dartmouth on Saturday.
Parker Brown scored a career high four goals, including an unassisted game-winning goal in overtime, to lift the Bears over the Big Green. He also scored the go-ahead goal with 10:04 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Bears an 11-10 advantage. The Bears extended their lead to two goals, before a late Big Green rally sent the contest into overtime. He also had two assists to finish with six points against the Big Green
Brown is the Bears leading scorer with 40 points, scoring 22 goals and handing out a team leading 18 assists.
Hurster made the most of his playing opportunity by netting two key goals against the Big Green in a sea-saw battle that score tied 12 times. Both of Hurster's goals were scored in the first half, tying the game after Dartmouth had taken the lead.
Hurster finished his rookie season with five goals for the Bears, who finished with a 6-8 overall record.
