Providence, Rhode Island - The 50th meeting between two storied New England lacrosse programs will take place on Saturday, March 5th when 20th-ranked Brown travels to Amherst, Massachusetts to battle 9th-ranked UMass at Garbor Field. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Brown and UMass will be meeting for the 50th time, with the Bears holding a 26-22-1 series advantage. The last three games have been decided by one goal, with the Minutemen edging the Bears, 11-10 last season at Meister-Kavan Field. Brown earned a 9-8 decision in 2009 at Garbor Field, and has won three of the last four meetings.
Brown (1-0) opened its season last week with a 13-4 win over Quinnipiac. Junior Parker Brown, the nation's leading scorer, was named the Ivy League's Player of the Week after scoring four goals and handing out three assists against the Bobcats. Senor Andrew Feinberg also lit up the scoreboard with four goals, while distributing two assists. Senior goalkeeper Matt Chriss was on top of his game, registered 14 saves, while allowing just three goals.
The Minutemen (3-0) have already played three games, posting wins over #12 Army (8-5), Hartford (14-10), and #13 Ohio State (11-9).
