Spring Academic All-Ivy Announced
Providence, RI- The Ivy League announced its spring list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were each starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Jordan Burke ’09 Named MLL Defensive Player of the Week
Former Brown goalie Jordan Burke ’09 has made an impact on the professional level and was named the Major League Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. At Brown, Burke was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year, the USILA Goalie of the Year, and a first team All-American while helping the Bears to an Ivy League title and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Brown Laxers Named To All-New England Team
Senior defenseman Peter Fallon (Baltimore, MD), senior attackman Andrew Feinberg (Owing Mills, MD), senior goalie Matt Chriss (Lutherville, MD), and junior midfielder Rob Schlesinger (Medfield, MA) have been selected to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division I All-Star Team. Fallon earned first team All-New England recognition, with Feinberg, Chriss and Schoesinger earned second team All-New England accolades.

Junior attackman Parker Brown’s (San Francisco, CA) fourth goal of the game with 1:30 remaining in overtime lifted a rejuvenated Brown squad to a 13-12 Ivy League victory over Dartmouth for its second straight overtime win over the Big Green. Both teams conclude the 2011 season, Brown with a 6-8 overall mark, 2-4 in the Ivy League, while Dartmouth falls to 5-9, 1-5 in Ivy play.

The Brown men’ lacrosse team will close out its 2011 season on Saturday, April 30, traveling to Hanover, New Hampshire to face Dartmouth, starting at 1:00 p.m. The Bears have posted a 5-8 overall record, 1-4 in the Ivy League, while Dartmouth sports an identical record, 5-8 overall, 1-4 in Ivy play.

Cornell earned its ninth consecutive Ivy League Championship with an 18-5 win over Brown Saturday afternoon at rainy and muddy Stevenson Field. With six different players scoring goals, and inspired play by Bears’ senior goalie Matt Chriss (Lutherville, MD) in the fourth quarter, Brown earned a hard fought 6-4 win over Providence College Tuesday evening at Lennon Family Field. The Bears, 5-7 overall, captured their 17th consecutive victory over the Friars (3-9) without a loss.

Yale rallied from a 4-2 halftime deficit by out-scoring the Bears by an 8-2 margin in the second half to earn a 10-6 men’s lacrosse victory over Brown in an Ivy League game at Reese Stadium. The win lifts the 14th-ranked Bulldogs to 8-2 overall, 3-2 in the Ivy League, while Brown falls to 4-7, 1-3 in Ivy play. Senior Andrew Feinberg scored two goals to lead the Bears.

Princeton sophomore midfielder Tucker Shanley scored with 2:58 remaining in the fourth overtime period to lift the Tigers to a 5-4 Ivy League men's lacrosse win over Brown at the Class of 1952 Stadium. Junior Parker Brown and senior David Hawley netted two goals each to lead the Bears, who fall to 3-5 overall, 0-2 in the Ivy League. Princeton moves to 2-5 overall, 1-2 in Ivy play.

Parker scored a career high four goals on just seven shots, and added a career best three assists in the win over the Bobcats.

Senior Andrew Feinberg and junior Parker Brown scored four goals each to lead the 20th ranked Brown men’s lacrosse team to a 13-4 season opening victory over Quinnipiac at Meister-Kavan Field. Brown opened a 6-0 lead midway through the second quarter and never looked back. Feinberg and Parker had two goals each in the opening salvo, while senior David Hawley and sophomore Alex Jones added a goal each.

Peter Fallon Named Candidate For 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award
Brown University defenseman Peter Fallon is among 20 NCAA men’s lacrosse student-athletes, who excel both on and off the field, to be named candidates for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award in lacrosse. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
