Line up a dozen of his teammates in a gauntlet formation, and Nick Martell will not hesitate to run through it in order to get the ground ball. He is absolutely fearless in his pursuit of possession, ignoring slashes and bruises. He has even earned several broken teeth due to his bold style during the UPenn game this past spring. But Nick simply does not complain. He is committed to doing the dirty work, unafraid of the consequences and all for the betterment of the program. Nick continues to give us repetitions at the faceoff X as well as long stick midfield.2010: Played in three games for the Bears…Picked-up three ground balls…2009: Played in four games for the Bears… Before Brown: Transferred to Brown from Middlebury College… Was undefeated in face-offs at Middlebury… Also named a 2007 Middlebury College Scholar… Secondary School background: A graduate of Fieldston School where he lettered in Lacrosse (4) and Ice Hockey (4)… Lacrosse team captain for two years and four-year starter… US Lacrosse High School All-American… Named First Team All-Ivy Preparatory League for four years… Helped lead his team to its first New York State Metro Championship and its first two Ivy Preparatory Championships… Had 150 goals and 118 assists for his career… Three-time NYC Empire team selection and served as team captain… started for all four years in ice hockey at Fieldston and captained the team for two of them… All-time points leader… Also played on the Tier I AAA New Jersey Avalanche ice hockey team and was the captain in 2005… Member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society… Class Officer…Personal: The son of Michael and Alice Martell… Has a sister, Katie… Enjoys politics, architecture, and Italian food… Concentrating in History.
