This pup from St. Louis has significantly impressed the coaching staff in his first fall on campus.  From day one of the fall, Sam has demonstrated an advanced level of stickwork with both hands and technically sharp dodging techniques.  It is obvious he has studied the game and intently listened to previous coaches.  Sam is pushing for playing time already due to his sharp skills and his versatility to make plays with either hand.  And there is no questioning his desire:  Sam wants this bad and he is fully committed to being great.  A thumb injury late in the fall will hold him back in the preseason, but his character and determination will allow him to catch up quickly…Secondary School Background: A graduate of Landu Horton Watkins High School where he lettered in lacrosse (4), soccer (3) and football (1)… Lacrosse team captain his junior and senior year…Two-time First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State selection…Led team in goals and assists with 96 points as a senior…2010 Conference Champions and Division II State Champions with an undefeated divisional record…Also soccer team captain…Second team All-Conference in soccer his senior year…First team All-Conference Kicker in football…Four-year Honor Roll student…Personal:  The son of Lynn and Steven Hurster…Has three sisters, Megan, Leeanne and Christine…Enjoys playing golf and squash…Volunteers as a lacrosse coach for junior youth leagues around St. Louis…Undecided on his concentration.
