The fire burns hot inside this man’s competitive heart.  Roger made a resounding statement his freshman year, both creating and disrupting with similar success for Brown.  The ball finds its way into his stick, either through an initial scoop or several “gooses” to himself.  Then the race is on, and few can stay with this pony.  7 assists resulted due to this speed and his vision, as well as a goal in the Ivy Tournament.  Equally as significant is Roger’s relentless pressure he applies to the ball carrier, utilizing both his quickness to stay with the dodger and his strength to drive a bull dodger off his line.  In 2011, look for Roger to focus again as a LSM, but he will be seen at close defense for specific matchups…2010: Named the New England Rookie of the Year…Spark plug for the Bears as a long stick middy and on defense…Scored his first career goal in Brown's Ivy league Playoff game against Cornell, finding the back of the net on an end-to-end clearing run…Brown's team leader with 39 ground balls, and handed out seven assists, sixth best on the Brown team…Secondary School Background: A graduate of St. Albans School where he lettered in lacrosse, football, hockey, and soccer… Lacrosse team captain… Named an Under Armour All-American… Holds the St. Albans record for career ground balls (576) and ground balls in a single season (233)… Two-time All-Met selection and All-District selection… Also named All-IAC for two years and twice named to the Under Armour Underclassman Team… Helped lead his team to an IAC Co-Championship… Served as class president for three years and as the head prefect his senior year… Personal: The son of Roger Ferguson and Annette Nazareth, a graduate of Brown… Undecided on his concentration.
