First thought of Johnny, now that he is a sophomore? What a difference a year makes! Emerging is a man who is accepting the responsibility of being his own best motivator and more focused with his training on the field and in the weight room. While there are even more strides to be made here, the progress is clearly evident. Johnny played midfield this fall, taking advantage of his size and his overhand room and time shot. He is pushing for a significant role there, but he could also see time again on attack. If Johnny can rid himself of the sidearm shot and instead be an overhand shooter, while continuing to practice like he has something to prove, then his production on the field will be greatly enhanced…2010: Played in six games for the Bears…Enjoyed a big day against St. Joseph’s, scoring two goals and adding an assist…Also scored a goal against Cornell…Secondary School Background: A graduate of the Taft School where he lettered in soccer (4) and lacrosse (4), and also participated in squash and ice hockey at The Gunnery… Lacrosse team captain… US Lacrosse All-American selection… Led his team in scoring his junior and senior seasons… Two-time Founders League All-Star… All-Western New England selection… Named to the New England Senior East/West game… US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase selection… Also was a runner up for the Stu Lindsay award for the best attack man in Western New England… Recipient of the Odden Lacrosse Award… Had 122 career points at Taft in three years… Recipient of the Senior Athletic award given to athletes with at least six varsity letters… Member of the class committee for two years and honor roll for one… Was the bass section head for the school choir and head of the school a capella group… Personal: The son of Alan and Mary DePeters… Has two older siblings, Sarah, and Pat… Interested in economics and music… Interned in London this past summer for several insurance firms…Concentrating in Economics and interested in working on Wall Street.
