So, how did Matt do in his first year as the starting goalie, after sitting behind an All-American for two years at Brown University?  Better every day.  While he did have an adjustment period early in the 2010 season, by the end Matt was a tough man to get the ball past.  The Duke contest down in Durham saw Matt raise his game to a new level, and he was a force the rest of the way.  He earned an overtime win over Dartmouth giving Brown a share of the Ivy title, despite being exhausted and dehydrated with the flu.  Matt moves into his senior spring with more to prove to himself, and we are excited to see the next step in his maturation as a consistent leader from the cage…2010: Emerged as one of the top goalies in the Ivy League, earning honorable mention All-Ivy honors…Ranked third the Ivy League with 10.30 saves per game…Posted a 10.18 goals against average, and a save percentage of .513…Registered a season high 15 saves vs. #7 Duke, and 14 saves in Brown's win over Bryant..Turned aside 13 shots in games against Hofstra and #8 Cornell…Played 748 of a possible 738 minutes in goal for the Bears…2009: Saw action in four games as a back-up to first team All-American goalie Jordan Burke…Made five saves in 7:32 during Brown’s win over Vermont…Also made two saves vs. Delaware…2008: Saw action against Lehigh, Air Force and Vermont, making five saves…Back-up to Bears’ All-American goalie Jordan Burke…Secondary School Background: A graduate of the Gilman School where he lettered in lacrosse (3) and ice hockey (2)…Lacrosse team captain as a senior…First team All-Baltimore County as a junior and senior…Tewaaraton Award Watch List…Gilman co-MVP and Coaches Award winner his senior year…Maryland Free-State team member…Blue Chip Camp attendee…Made 302 career saves with a save percentage of .603…Four-year Honor Roll student…Personal: The son of Andrew and Connie Chriss of Lutherville…Has a brother, Evan…Enjoys skiing, squash and going to the beach…Modern American History concentrator.
