NEW ENGLAND LACROSSE CLASSIC TO BE PLAYED AT GILLETTE STADIUM APRIL 3
Foxborough, Mass. (February 11, 2010) – Gillette Stadium
announced today the return of the New England Lacrosse Classic on
Saturday, April 3, when Princeton University plays Brown University
and Cornell University faces Dartmouth College.
“The New England Lacrosse Classic is Gillette Stadium’s
effort to participate in the continued growth and development of
lacrosse here in New England,” said Dan Murphy, stadium vice
president for business development. “We look forward to
building on the tremendous success of the NCAA Championships in
creating a great lacrosse atmosphere for the players and the
lacrosse community.”
The first New England Lacrosse Classic was played at Gillette
Stadium in 2008 in advance of the 2008 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse
Championships at the stadium. The 2010 New England Lacrosse Classic
will be an all-Ivy League event that will provide New Englanders
the opportunity to see 39 players who played youth and high school
lacrosse in New England.
Dartmouth and Brown will serve as the home teams, with
Cornell-Dartmouth facing off at noon and Princeton-Brown at
approximately 2:30 p.m.
“Gillette Stadium provides our program the opportunity to
play in a championship venue, in front of the New England lacrosse
community against one of our biggest rivals,” said Lars
Tiffany, head coach at Brown University.
“Our institution, team, alumni and fans are excited for the
chance to play the 2009 national runner-up, Cornell, at Gillette
Stadium in front of enthusiastic lacrosse fans,” said Andy
Towers, head coach at Dartmouth College.
Brown, Cornell and Princeton all participated in the 2009 NCAA
Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championships with Cornell
advancing to the championship game.

general public Tuesday, Feb. 16 through Ticketmaster at

In addition to being the home of the three-time Super Bowl Champion
New England Patriots and the 2007 U.S. Open Cup Champion New
England Revolution, Gillette Stadium served as the venue for the
2008 and 2009 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships and will also
host the NCAA Championships in 2012.
