George did not just bide his time as a freshman, with three strong attackmen ahead of him last year. In practice and the weight room, he committed to becoming a better offensive player in many areas, including dodging and shooting. George’s work ethic as a freshman has him poised to realize more significant minutes in 2011. He is not deficient in any area. George can create offense with his emerging dodging game, he can handle just about any pass and release good shots, and he rides and scraps for a ground ball like it’s the last one on Earth. George is on the verge of making an impact during his sophomore year, earning his opportunities…2010: Played in 11 games for the Bears…Had three goals for the season, including two against St. Joseph’s and one against Hofstra…Picked-up three ground balls…Secondary School Background: A graduate of the Hotchkiss School where he lettered in lacrosse and ice hockey… Lacrosse team captain… All-Western New England and All-Founders League… Named a New England All-Star… Helped lead his team to three-straight Founders League Championships and led his team in points his junior season… Named the team’s Most Valuable Player and team’s Most Improved Player… Also played on a club squash team… Senior Class President and member of the Disciplinary Committee… Recipient of the Centennial Prize… Personal: The son of Robert and Dee Dee Sherman… Has younger siblings, Audrey and Wiley… Enjoys hockey, tennis, and skiing… Undecided on his concentration.
