White Defeats Brown In Men's Ice Hockey Annual Brown vs. White Scrimmage

PROVIDENCE, RI - The men's ice hockey team had it's annual brown vs. white scrimmage on Saturday, October 20, in Meehan Auditorium and the White team came away with a 3-2 victory. The two teams played two 25-minute halves and the three Brown goalies rotated in and out, playing on both teams.

The white team took a 2-0 lead with back-to-back goals just nine minutes apart, but the Brown team got on the board with 2:35 remaining in the first half to head into the second stanza down by one.

Just six minutes into the second half, the white team increased its lead to two goals at 3-1, but the Brown team answered following the ensuing face-off and tallied the final goal of the game.

In net for the Bears, senior Brian Eklund (Braintree, MA), sophomore Yann Danis (Lafontaine, QUE) and freshman Scott Rowan (Vernon, BC) combined for 59 saves.

The Bears will host Harvard in a scrimmage on Wednesday, October 24, and host St. Francis Xavier on Friday the 26th before the points begin to count when they open at Harvard on November 3.
