Danis Named to ECAC All-Tournament Team

March 24, 2003

Brown University junior Yann Danis (Saint-Jerome, QUE), a five-time ECAC Goalie of the Week, Second Team All-ECAC, and Second Team All-Ivy selection, was named to the 2003 ECAC All-Tournament Team.

The Bears made their first appearance in the ECAC Championship Tournament since 1994, and finished in fourth place, falling to #1 Cornell, 2-0, in the semi-finals, and to Dartmouth, 4-2, in the third place game. Danis was spectacular as usual all weekend, stopping 67 of 72 shots in the two games, while breaking several records.

Danis, who already holds Brown records for career shutouts (8), single-season shutouts (5), single-season goals against average (1.86), single-season save percentage (.938), goalie minutes played in a game (94:14), and consecutive home wins (10), broke three more records during the weekend, including two tournament records. Brown finished the season with a 16-14-5 record, and posted a winning season for the first time since 1995 when Bruno finished with a 15-12-5 ledger.
