Better still, ask the fans to rank these four in popularity between periods of this weekend's matchup between Cornell's Big Red and Brown University at Brown University's Meehan Auditorium, and Korbl might top the list ahead of those other well-known Brown alumni.
"Our captain is the heart and soul of this team," said sixth-year coach Roger Grillo about Korbl. "He plays much bigger than his physical stature."
Grillo and Korbl led the Brown Bears up Route 95 on Jan. 31 for a battle with Harvard to continue the nation's oldest college hockey rivalry. That bus ride was slowed by a fender bender along the way, delaying the team's arrival in Cambridge. The same can be said for the program as they ascend the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference after a string of bottom-tier years. Brown's last NCAA appearance was 1993; the last season above .500 was 1995 when it finished second in the conference.
