Brown University senior Hobey Baker candidate Yann Danis (Saint Jerome, Quebec) was honored as the ECAC Goaltender of the Week (2/9), helping to lead the Bears to two wins, over Princeton (5-2) and Yale (4-1) with a total of 57 saves in the two games. The honor for Danis marks the 12th time in his career, and the fifth time this season, he has been named ECAC Goalie of the Week.
On Tuesday night against Princeton, Danis helped the Bears to a series sweep of the Tigers with 25 saves on 27 shots. The win was Brown's sixth straight over Princeton, including four last season, and the 700th all-time Brown hockey victory. The next night at Yale, Danis helped Brown earn a series sweep over Yale with 32 saves on 33 shots, earning First Star honors. With the win, the Bears earned a sweep of the Princeton/Yale road trip for the first time since 1994-95, and a sweep over Yale for the first time since 1995-96. The sweep also gave Brown a sweep of Harvard, Princeton, and Yale in the same season for the first time since 1964-65.
Danis currently leads the nation with a .951 save percentage, and is second in the nation with a 1.53 goals against average.
