Junior men's icer Brent Robinson (Pointe Claire, QUE) has earned Honorable Mention recognition for the January IHCCA Player of the Month, as selected by the Ice Hockey Collegiate Commissioners' Association.
The Bears' leading scorer with 24 points, Robinson helped to lead Brown to a 4-3-1 record during the month of January, notching six of his eight goals and nine of his 16 assists during the month. He was named the ECAC Player of the Week on January 13th. The 1st Star in a 6-4 come-from-behind win over Yale, Robinson scored two power-play goals, including the game-tying goal and the game-winning goal, and added two assists.
The ECAC's leader in power-play points with 13, Robinson tallied 10 of his 13 power-play points during the month of January, scoring four of his six power-play goals, as he helped the Bears' powerplay climb to 16th in the nation.
In addition, Robinson tallied at least one point in seven of Brown's eight games, notching at least two assists in four of the eight. Tallied at least a point in five straight games, with a four-game streak of at least two assists.
The Bears have a 9-9-2 overall record with a 7-6-1 ECAC mark and are currently in sixth place in the league with 15 points. Brown will travel to New York's Capital District this weekend for a pair of crucial ECAC games with third-place Union on Friday and 11th-place RPI on Saturday.
