For the second time this season, Brown University freshman goalie Dan Rosen (Syosset, NY) has been named the ECACHL Goalie of the Week, earning Co-Goalie honors this week with Harvard's Kyle Richter, after leading Brown to a three-point weekend against Princeton (1-1) and Quinnipiac (6-3).
In the two games, Rosen posted 81 saves on 85 shots, including 46 of 47 in a 1-1 tie with Princeton, one-shy of tying his career-high. Against the Tigers, Rosen stopped all 20 in the final 25:00 of play, including all 19 he faced in the third period. Several saves came in the final minute of play, during which Princeton was in Brown's defensive end. Brown was outshot for the game, 47-19. The next night against #18 Quinnipiac, Rosen recorded 35 saves on 38 shots to post his 8th win of the season as Brown was outshot 38-23. He was named 1st star against Princeton on Friday night. For the weekend, Rosen was 1-0-1 with a .953 save percentage and a 1.92 GAA.
Rosen, who was recently named one of 15 finalists for the Walter Brown Award, and the Bears will look to continue their streak this weekend on the road against #10 Clarkson and #16 St. Lawrence, which are currently third and first in the ECACHL, respectively.
