After almost four minutes of scoreless action, North Dakota took a 1-0 lead at the 3:58 mark of the opening period and Jason Notermann and Brandon Bochenski combined on a two-on-one to beat junior Yann Danis (Saint-Jerome, QUE) and open the game's scoring.
