Box Score

PRINCETON, NJ - In the sixth straight overtime game between the two teams, Brett Wilson scored the game-winning goal just 1:50 into overtime to lift Princeton (14-14-3, 10-10-2) to a 2-1 win over the Brown men's ice hockey team (11-14-6, 6-12-4) in game two of the ECACHL first round best-of-three series. With the series now tied at one game each, tomorrow's winner will advance to the ECACHL Quarterfinals.

The Tigers outshot Brown, 15-4, in a scoreless first period that saw each team get whistled for just one penalty.

The first part of the second period was much like the first, but the Bears were more aggressive and generated several scoring chances. However, it was Princeton that took the first lead of the game, despite getting outshot, 9-7, for the period.

With the Tigers on a four-on-three advantage, Cam MacIntyre found the back of the net when his shot from the bottom of the right face-off circle eluded freshman Dan Rosen (Syosset, NY) at 13:31.

However, the Bears responded just two minutes later at 15:38 when freshman Devin Timberlake (Port Alberni, ALB) netted his third goal of the year. Junior Chris Poli (Medfield, MA) won a face-off back to sophomore Matt Palmer (Anchorage, AK) and Palmer chipped the puck in to Timberlake. Timberlake circled with the puck, turned towards the net and fired a shot from the same spot as MacIntyre's that beat B.J. Sklapsky stick-side. The assist was the first point of Palmer's career as every member of the current Brown team, excluding the goalies, has at least one career point.

The two teams played a scoreless third period but the Bears were buzzing in the Princeton zone for the final 30 seconds. With the clock ticking down, Sklapsky stopped junior Jeff Prough's (Farmington Hills, MI) from point-blank range and seconds later junior Brian McNary (Edmonton, ALB) fired his shot wide as the two teams headed for extra time for the sixth straight game.

In a must-win situation for Princeton, the Tigers extended their season by at least one more night when Wilson's shot deflected into the back of the net off a Brown defenseman.

Rosen recorded 33 saves, while Sklapsky posted 21 saves for the Tigers. The two teams will meet again tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. in the third and final game of the series.
