Drew Omicioli begins his first season with the Bears as a volunteer assistant coach in 2008. A native Rhode Islander and graduate of Providence College, Omicioli is a valuable addition to the Brown coaching staff.
A 2002 graduate of PC with a degree in Business Management, Omicioli began his professional playing career immediately after his college career ended, playing with the Providence Bruins (AHL) for the tail end of the 2002 season Omicioli then moved on to Italy, where he spent two seasons playing for the Bolzano Foxes of the Italian Elite League, leading the team in points and goals in both 2003 and 2004, and leading the League with 45 goals in 2004.
Omicioli then spent one season with Hockey Club Asiago Lions, before returning to the U.S. for a one-year stint (2005-2006) with the Danbury Trashers (UHL). While with the Trashers, Omicioli led the team to an Eastern Division Championship, leading Danbury in both points and goals, and earning Second Team All-Star recognition. Omicioli returned to the Bolzano Foxes for the 2006-2007 season, once again leading the team in goals.
A three-time RI All-State selection while playing for LaSalle Academy (1994-1996),
Omicioli finished his high school career at Loomis Chaffee, where he earned All-Prep
honors. Prior to enrolling at PC, he spent one season in the USHL, playing for the Lincoln Stars. Omicioli currently works for Turfer Athletic as the director of sales for College Hockey and Prep Schools.
