A talented forward who is also one of the top penalty killers on the team, Joe Bauer can also play defense. He has a natural scoring ability and will help lead the offense this season.
2004-2005: One of five Bears to play in all 33 games ... Tallied 3-2-5 numbers on the season with eight penalty minutes ... Notched an assist on Ihnacak's empty-net goal in 4-1 win at St. Lawrence ... Earned an assist on Santini's game-winning goal in 4-1 win over Merrimack ... 2002-2003: Bauer played in three games as a rookie, dressing one game on defense ... Made his collegiate debut against RPI in November ... Also played against Iona and at RPI, dressing as a defenseman.
Before Brown: Bauer spent four years (1998-2002) as a member of the varsity hockey team at Apple Valley high school, alma mater of head coach Roger Grillo. The team captain his junior and senior seasons, Bauer was a two-time team MVP. Bauer was also an All-Conference selection twice during his career. The Rookie of the Year as a freshman, Bauer helped to lead Apple Valley to the Lake Conference Championship title as a senior. Led the team with 14 goals and 32 assists as a senior, posting 10 goals and 30 assists as a junior. Bauer also played baseball and ran cross country.
