DURHAM, N.H. – The Brown men's hockey team rallied for four unanswered third-period goals to earn a tie at No. 20 New Hampshire, 4-4, in non-conference action Saturday night at the Whittemore Center.

Tommy Marchin (Algonac, Mich.), Tim Lappin (St. Charles, Ill.), Tyler Bird (Andover, Mass.) and Brent Beaudoin (Londonderry, N.H.) also scored in the third period to erase a four-goal deficit. Brown outshot the Wildcats, 39-31, overall. New Hampshire moved to 9-9-2 on the season.

Beaudoin and Bird also earned assists for two points apiece. Gavin Nieto (Yorba Linda, Calif.) started in net and made 13 saves with four goals allowed, before giving way to rookie Luke Kania (Chicago, Ill.), who recorded 14 stops. Danny Tirone had 35 saves for the Wildcats.

This marks Brown's second four-goal comeback of the season along with an overtime win at Rensselaer, 5-4.

UNH jumped out to a quick lead with a pair of goals in the opening ten minutes of the contest. After Benton Maass notched a power-play goal at 3:40, Liam Blackburn tapped in a rebound at 9:21 for the early two-goal advantage.

New Hampshire added its third goal of the period at 13:19 when Eric MacAdams ripped home a one timer from the right circle for the three-goal lead at the first intermission.

Brown outshot the Wildcats by a 13-6 margin in the middle period, but Blackburn tacked on his second of the game just 1:42 into the frame, as he snapped a shot over the shoulder of Nieto for the four-goal lead.

Marchin put the Bears on the board at 3:06 in the third period. Sam Lafferty (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) sent a pass to the left circle, where Marchin ripped a shot past Tirone for his team-high seventh goal of the season.

Lappin trimmed the deficit to two at 8:27, when he collected a pass from Beaudoin right in front and backhanded home a shot for his fourth tally of the season. Bird then redirected a shot past Tirone on the power play to cut the lead to one with less than five minutes to play.

After Kania made two big stops, including one during a Shane Eiserman breakaway, Beaudoin notched the game-tying goal with 1:32 remaining. The New Hampshire native crashed the net on a rebound and flipped the puck over Tirone for his third goal of the season.

Brown outshot New Hampshire by a 3-1 margin in overtime.
